From the ground up
Early on in my life, sports was my passion, and I was able to play Division 1 baseball. I was on track to draft high to play professionally, but after a severe elbow injury, I had to hang up the cleats. I worked in the oil and gas industry for six years and had no long-term goal. I struggled with alcohol and depression, which also led to trouble. I could see the outcomes of my poor decisions and finally sought help. With all the turmoil in my life, I went back to what I loved to do – ART. By keeping my hands and mind busy, I soon healed, and now I share God’s talent through me with others by creating leather works.
Finding the canvas
I wasn’t quite sure what my medium would be until I stumbled across a video of a man working on a saddle. I knew then that I wanted to learn how to make beautiful art out of leather. I still believe saddle work is in my future, but as of right now, I love making vehicle interior parts and belts.
Praise
I mention my past because I believe everything happens for a reason. These tough times taught me so much, and made me the person I am today.
I have been sober since 2022, love Jesus, and have rebuilt relationships with those I pushed away during my struggles. I must give credit to my savior for showing me the light at the end of the tunnel! I could not be where I am today without our lord and my family.
